Glucola 100!

Today was my three hour gestational diabetes test. I think it has an official name, but I can't remember what it is... Anyway, Ryan came with me. I'm glad he was able to keep me company because it was REALLY boring. Thank goodness for husbands, books, and iPhones.

I had to fast starting last night at 10pm. Our appointment was at 8:30am, and they drew my blood as soon as we arrived. Then I had to chug some Glucola 100 (100 grams of sugar this time instead of 50) and wait an hour. Then the nurse came in and took my blood again. Then we waited for an hour. Then the nurse came in and took my blood again. Then we waited for another hour. Then the nurse came in and took my blood for the last time and I was allowed to leave. I got to lay down and sip water the whole time we waited, so that was nice. They said I should get a call in a couple days if things look abnormal, but no news is good news.

Thankfully, this test was very uneventful. No dizzy spells this time! Looks like whatever that was, it probably had nothing to do with having blood drawn, drinking Glucola, or not eating (since I did all of that again today and felt fine). I'm thinking now that I probably just laid on my back for too long, but who knows.

Let's hope for no news! :)
