This year for our family reunion we stayed in a beach house at Newport Beach! It was my first time in California, and the kid's first time on a plane. Overall, it went pretty well. I mean we survived, so that says a lot right? Both boys loved the plane ride and were super excited to have fun with all their cousins.
We learned that bringing a car seat on an airplane is a pain, but holding Rhett while he screams because he's not allowed to run amok on the plane is more of a pain... lesson learned! 😃
Here are some pictures from the airport, airplane, and shuttle ride.
Ryan took pictures of us going through security...
Waiting to board our plane
This was on the way TO Cali, while we had the car seat set up. Definitely the better option!
And this was on the shuttle on our way to get the rental car ♡
Once we arrived it was beautiful California weather and beautiful sandy beach fun for days! The water was still way too cold for me, but the boys didn't seem to mind a bit. All of the older boys enjoyed boogie boarding, and it was so cool to watch them learn together.
Race and Rhett were the cutest little buddies!
My handsome beach babe ♡
Jett was running to me because he had sand in his eye, but it turned out to be a cool picture!
Rhett really liked my new sunglasses
He spent a lot of his time being tired because he was too excited to sleep. Poor kiddo.
The Beach House
Somewhat blurry but still really cool panorama that Ryan took!
This is how we got Rhett to nap every day 😍
It was a fun adventure but we are happy to be home. More specifically, we are happy to have Rhett back in his own room and bed so he can sleep normal hours again!
We got to spend Ryan's 28th birthday in Newport. Ryan's mom and sisters got him a cake and some other goodies, then they watched the boys for us so we could go on a dinner date! We ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory and it was amazing. Best pasta ever. Then we went for a walk on the beach and Ryan bought me a jacket and sunglasses for my half birthday (also known as Ryan's birthday). Have I got a great guy or what? ♥
Last but not least, here's a little video of our trip in a nutshell :)
