A friend recently reminded me that life is full of different seasons. My current season consists of juggling homeschooling a 5 year old with a 3 year old while keeping my sanity and attempting to keep the house clean (which pretty much never happens). It's like herding feral cats.
Ryan is BUSY. He works his cop job and does septic inspections on the side. When he's not doing that, he's working on our house. I spend a lot of time in survival mode, and sometimes my boys spend the day having movie marathons (Cars 3 and Ferdinand anyone?), but I've realized that's ok right now. It's all part of the journey. It won't be this way forever. I know Heavenly Father loves me, and is helping me through. I know I'll look back at this time in our lives and there will be things I'll miss. I know homeschooling these wild monkeys during these precious years will be one of them. I'm not an expert in anything. I don't have a master's degree in teaching. I'm learning as I go, which is one reason it can be so frustrating, but it also makes our successes so much sweeter. I'm not a perfect mom, but I adore my challenging little humans, and every little bit of progress is a win. It feels good!
Our house is coming along! The roof is on, the concrete in our garage is poured, and the plumber will be out tomorrow. Yay for progress!
Sometimes they spontaneously turn into puppies... Yep, I'll miss that.
Blurry picture, but precious moment 💗
Nana came home from vacation with some more train tracks for the boys, and they've built some pretty awesome things!
It seems weird now, but I know this is one of the things I'll miss. They are both perfectly capable of taking showers, but they'd rather squeeze into this tiny bin for a bath lol. And I become the splashing Nazi: "STOP SPLASHING!!!!"
Don't panic, it's an airsoft gun - a pretty sweet AR 15 replica! Ryan has been having so much fun teaching Kender how to shoot on this thing. It's made for some great bonding time 💗
Here's to all of life's seasons and enjoying each and every one!
Besides being a wonderful mom and terrific wife and an amazing artist, you’re a pretty dang good writer too!
