Kender Turns 6

Kender is 6... I'm the mom of a 6 year old... It's a little weird to think about! I remember bringing him home from the hospital and being absolutely terrified because I had no idea how to take care of a baby. He was so precious and small with the biggest, sweetest eyes. Kender taught me how to be a mom. He taught me (and still teaches me daily) how to be patient. He's teaching me how to be selfless. He taught me how to organize, and he's taught me that I can do more and handle more than I ever thought I could. I couldn't be more proud of the amazing little boy he's become.

He loves helping me with chores around the house, especially now that I'm pregnant. The other day he cleaned the whole bathroom for me (including the toilet and floor) because he knew it was hard for me to bend over. He's always concerned about the feelings and well being of others. Sometimes talking irritates my throat and makes me cough more (pretty sure I have bronchitis at the moment), and because of that he's asked me NOT to read and him and Rhett books at night. I still do because I'm stubborn, or I pass the task off to Daddy when he's here. But the consideration he has for me melts my heart.

Kender and Rhett are the best of friends and very sensitive to each others emotions. Sure, they fight occasionally like all siblings do, but they also play and wrestle and give hugs and tell each other (without being asked) that they love each other. They try to cheer each other up when the other is sad or mad. I can't believe how blessed I am to have these sweet boys, and how blessed we are to have another one joining us in October ❤
