Lately I've been trying to post things that other people might find helpful, but this one's just for me 😉. We are creeping closer to winter solstice, and I can't wait for the days to start getting longer again! It's super weird that it starts getting dark at 4 pm... Anyway, I've been thinking about gratitude this month, and wanted to share a few things I'm grateful for.
A Large Garden Area
I love that we have a nice big area to plant our garden in! My brother calls it our "farm." We recently went through and pulled up any old yucky plants. I got rid of most of the rotted pumpkins, zucchini, and spaghetti squash (I think we'll plant a few less of those next year). Ryan did pretty much everything else! He takes care of all the hard dirt work, and I take care of the actual plants. We (and by "we" I mean Ryan) still need to cover the ground with something, but that will probably have to wait until next month. We are headed to Salem for Thanksgiving and we're all so excited!

I thought it was pretty fun to throw the old pumpkins into our compost area and watch them burst... It was kind of therapeutic. Now I understand the band named "Smashing Pumpkins". Rhett and our 6 year old neighbor really enjoyed watching it too 🤣 |

These are the remains of our one giant pumpkin. Ryan had to toss this one for me. |
The Ingenious Multi-cooker
Most people know this as the "Instant Pot," but mine is a "PrepAMeal." Same thing, different brand. My mom got it for me for Christmas, and I might have accidentally opened it early and used it a few times... I'm sorry, but homemade mac & cheese in only 4 minutes was just too tempting!!! Ryan has really been enjoying all the cooking I've been doing. So far we've enjoyed that yummy mac & cheese, shepherd's pie, chuck roast french dip sandwiches, and salmon with potatoes. I can't believe how easy it is to use and clean! I'm in love. Thanks momma ❤
Snuggly Animals
I love that our animals get extra snuggly when the weather gets cold. A few times we've caught Roxy cuddled up in Sadie's crate. At first Sadie thought it was weird, but now she doesn't even care. She just goes in there with her. Or she snuggles up on the couch like a person.

I guess he's not an animal... But sometimes he acts like one! And he's cuter than any puppy or kitten I've ever seen. |
All My Handsome Boys
I'm so lucky I get to be around handsome boys all day. My teenage self would be so proud of my adult self. Aside from the fact that they're all super cute, they bring me so much joy. I love their crazy shenanigans.
I'm especially grateful for Ryan. He works so hard for our family and he's such a great dad. And he loves me even though sometimes I'm crazy. He is universally adored by all.

He's learned how to climb, and now he frequently gets stuck on top of small boxes. |

He takes after his grandma and loves making things. This is his Star Wars gun prototype. |
Speaking of Grandma, my super talented mom just opened up an Etsy shop! It's called
Betty Tucker Creations. There's not much in it right now, but she has 10,000 other amazing creations that she'll be listing soon (right mom?). Go check it out!
Love this post! Made me laugh and cry at the same time. I am grateful for you, your family and this blog.
ReplyDeleteI hope you were crying from laughing too hard! And I'm grateful for you! ❤️
