Today is Ryan's 31st birthday! Our celebration started yesterday. Ryan's mom watched the boys so he and I could go on a date. I agreed to eat at a Chinese restaurant (which I pretty much never do, so that was pretty special), then we went and got us some good muck boots for working on the homestead this winter. It's supposed to be exceedingly wet, as usual, so we wanted to have some nice waterproof boots.
After that, we walked around the mall for a bit. That was an interesting experience, with all the masks and closed entrances and whatnot (thanks COVID). Then we wrapped it up with Ryan's favorite birthday cake remix ice-cream from Coldstone.
Today I let Ryan sleep in a bit, then he went out and ran some ferrands (fun errands). He got back and told me he ordered a new smart watch for himself, and they were buy one get one half off so he got one for me too! I love Ryan's birthday. He always shares it with me, and we call it my half-birthday.
For dinner I made him a whole chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. It was my first attempt at making a chicken in an instant pot... It was ok. Ryan thought it was good, and that's what matters!
Ryan, I can't believe how lucky I am to be your wife. You are so selfless, hardworking, loving, funny, handsome, strong, and brave... I love you so much. Happy birthday!
