Family Trip to Salem 2021

A couple weeks ago we went on a little road trip down to Salem to visit Ryan’s sister (Nicole) and her family. We usually make our trips short because Mason does a lot of road screaming and not a lot of sleeping… But this time he did MUCH better for us on the road. He even slept pretty well at night, all things considered! The big boys on the other hand, were so excited that they woke up at 3:30 the first morning we were there… And they went downstairs and waited for two hours for Mason and I to come down. I was fully expecting meltdowns all day, but the excitement of playing with cousins sustained them!

Excited about his fluffy bean bag bed

All three boys awake bright and early 🥴

Finally tired out the next night

We didn’t expect him to nap at all on our trip, but he fell asleep on the floor with fruit snacks in both hands 😂

Play Time

Our visit was short, but we all really enjoyed the warm sunshine and hanging out with family. Nicole is pregnant, and due in about 3 weeks. Her baby belly is so cute!!

First time on a carousel… They were not fans. Especially Rhett. He said he’s never ever doing that again lol.

Went exploring with cousins and got a big fat scrape. It seems like he always gets hurt when we go on trips.

Snuggles when he woke up from his fruit snack nap.

Nicole and Ryan (her husband’s name is also Ryan) took us to this really cool park! I can’t remember the name of it though…

All 6 (almost 7) boys!

Homestead & Homeschool Updates

On the homestead, we are finally starting work on the garden! Our hoop house collapsed this winter, so we are going to leave it down and try using cement block beds and large rows like we did a couple years ago.

Our first garden friend of the year! I found him hibernating when I was cleaning up greenhouse plastic, and I put him in the sunshine in my strawberry bed. He’s still there!

The hens are FINALLY back in full production!! And I can make egg art 😂

My hellebores are blooming, and they’re so beautiful!

I’m giving the boys a break from formal school and focusing on skills like piano, Lego engineering, and programming. They’ve been having a blast with it!

Other Fun Stuff

All that’s left are some cute pictures of other random stuff we did:

Ryan thought everyone looked really good before church, so he wanted to get some pictures. These boys are all so handsome!

Kender looks so grown up 😭 and I dyed my hair red but you can’t really tell.

Kender even took a picture of Ryan and I 💕

Showing off his belly while watching TV. He looks so skinny!!!

Discovered a plugin called Clear Play that lets us filter movies on Disney+, so I told the boys they could watch all the Marvel movies with me. This on is Captain Marvel. Kender loved it, Rhett was super bored but hung in there until the end lol.

That’s all the pictures I’ve got for now! Other things I’ve been doing include researching NFTs, practicing lots of lettering, trying out henna brows, and getting some of my art up on RedBubble. I ordered a few things for myself, so when those arrive I’ll share some pictures.
